I originally started this blog in the fall of 2013 as a way to give my parents peace of mind when I quit my job teaching in Baltimore to move to Uzbekistan to teach at an International School. I also wanted to use it as a way to remember my travels and the funny situations I ended up in along the way – from the back of a 1962 Lada wedged between three old fisherman, to a ship graveyard in Karakalpakstan, to waking up in the desert in Wadi Rum!
I’ve since moved on from teaching to now working in the humanitarian field, which has taken me to Jordan, Palestine and Egypt. London is my current base (for now!), the United States is home – but my restless feet keep me wandering to lots of other places in between, which I sometimes photograph and write about on here :-)!
Some of what I write are stories about my experiences in different places, while other posts are guides to cities or trips I’ve taken. Under the ‘travel’ tab you can link to certain countries, if you are in search of something specific.
Thanks for taking a peek! And feel free to drop me a line – I’d love to hear from you!
